Default New to CC, 1330; No spark

Hello everyone,
I am a happy first time owner of a CC.The previous owner had it parked for hydro issues( that will be a later battle to tackle), but it seems the 12.5 Kolar has no spark. I have run a tester to the coil and no juice. After doing some reading, I removed coil, cleaned the minimal surface rust, reinstalled using business card, checked oil level( read there could be a sensor) and checked all wire connectors. The white wire that feeds into the coil had no power at any time. Does anyone know if it should?

It's not a coil, it's a magneto. No, no power goes to it..... EVER. The white wire is a ground wire. It runs to the key, (by way of safety switches) and when in the off position, it grounds the wire and kills the spark.

If it has no spark either:
1.) The mag has failed
2.) There is an issue in the "OFF" circuit, and the mag is constantly grounded.

You can disconnect the white wire at the mag, or at the connector on the outside of the engine and check for spark. NOTE: With this disconnected, the key will not shut the engine off.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
