Default Cub 126 - Now with PIX

Hi everyone

Just joined the forum and this is post #1 - so i hope this is the right area. I used to search feature and have not been able to find any info on the cub cadet 126? The reason I ask is that I have one - my grandfather was the orig owner who bought it brand new. Kinda neat that we have all the paper work and stuff. Anyway I also noticed there is not many pictures of 126's on the net- are they not sought after?

Kind Regards,
Jim

126s are pretty cool machines. I have not seen many of them; also the search function on this site is not always the best IMO. I know there are videos on youtube of a kid that has a 126 that I've viewed a few times.

Welcome to OCC.

You are very lucky to have a Cub Cadet that has been in your family for so long.

You are also very lucky to have a 126 the third rarest IH built Cub Cadet with only 5247 units made.

I have found that many people don't care for the 1X6/7 series tractors as well as some of the others. I love my 106, 126 and my 147's, then again, I love all my Cubs...

If you take good care of it, some day one of your grandkids could own it.

Welcome to OCC! Glad to have you!

There are many different types of cub cadets here and the 126 is not so common. I have a Model 100 and a Model 124, and others have 126's and a lot of others. We always like to see pics, so show us what you got! There is plenty of info here, including repair manuals and operators manuals. Plus, if you have a question, there will be many cub owners that will be happy to offer advice!

Welcome fellow 126 owner.. My 126 was my first cub and consequently my first post as well, as well my 126 is my favorite machine. My 125 and 1863 are both very close ties for second. Beware, these are like pringles, once you start you can't stop. Oh and here, without pics...it did not happen...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
