Default Todays Load

Today I went and picked up this O. 1961 Serial #19379. Has the K161T engine making it originally a recoil start. It has the recoil on it but is also electric start, im assuming the electric start was added by a dealer because it has all the correct components like the correct starter/generator etc. Very nice solid O and the engine was just completely rebuilt. And if I am not mistaken the blade on it is original to the O's. This would be the very early style blade. Any info on the blade would be appreciated also. Picked this up in New Florence, PA. Is it just me or is PA Cub Cadet Land?? Im up to 7 O's now and counting.....

Blade is IH and is a Non-trip plow for cub cadet originals. Later they came out with a trip blade like all the other IH cubs use.

I noticed this. There's doesnt seem to be too many in Fl as I know of but I'm going to a show this weekend so hopefully I will see a bunch. Awesome score though. I have my eye on an O with a blade too but the guy won't sell it yet.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
