Default Got an issue guys...

I finally got the new belts for my 1A tiller. Waited almost three months (better late than never though).
I finally checked the ratio on the gear box that came with it. It has a ratio of 1.5 to 1 ( bottom pulley to top pulley). The tines seam to move pretty darn fast. Is this the right box, or is it a snow thrower box?

And, the tines are facing the wrong way! I was able to get one side off, but the other side is frozen so I'm just gonna remove the tines and reverse them.

I told my wife, "I got the tiller goin just in time for snow!" and she laughed and said "You'll probably get your snow thrower just in time to till the garden in the spring!"

On my tiller, walk behind it goes 2 revolutions a second. Is it that fast, or faster?

PS. My boys think I'm cool, it's the wife and her whole family who think I'm a dumb redneck, it's OK, my boys stick up for me, and tell 'em it's better than being a lazy computer zombie!

Hehe, my wife hates tractors.....tells me "I don't hear anymore about tractors!"
But, she always smiles when I finish using them.

She said just last week, "You were right...as usual. The cub was a great investment".

My wife plays that farming thing on face book, that is the only time she talkes about BUYING a tractor! And for what? Pretend money, pretend land, pretend food? I did see her smile when I told her I sold the Weed Eater, and the Scott's. Let's see if she's still smiling on Sunday when I bring home the CC Orginal!

the ratio is 1.5:1. the blower gear box ratio is 1:1. keep in mind that the output shaft of the gear box will rotate at up to 1800 rpm so the tines will be moving right along.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
