We're ready and hoping for the best. Clean up the rain gutters and put the winter covers on the basement windows. Have 27 gallon of gas for the generator, 10 gallons of water in containers and luckily our cooking is with gas.

I am right in the projected path of Sandy here in CT. We have 20 gallons of gas for the generator and for the cubs (PTO generator) as well as garbage pails full of water for toilet flushing as well as a couple cases of drinking water. We have 150 lbs of propane for the grill and we have battened down the hatches so to speak, we are ready! Bring it on Sandy

And Thanks Sam for thinking of us!

Cory

Last year after I sold my place in CT you guys got hammered with the snow storm. The new owners of my place lost power for over a week. I suggested to them that they should get a generator like I had when I lived there. I get an e-mail today from them asking what I think they should do DUH it's a bit late now. here's your sign.

Anyway hope it works out for you and yours.

Mac

Ahh Yes the infamous storm of 2010 I believe. We lost power for 9 days, but it was no big deal, we cooked on the grill and used our generator. Actually it was a blessing in disguise, because all of our neighbors and us got together and made it through it together. We are always the last to be serviced, the last to have snow removed, the last to have power lines repaired because we live in a dirt road private association. Then not too long after that, last fall we were hit with a hurricane which knocked us out for about 13 days... It never ends. Thank go for my cub 104 during that large snow storm, that thing didn't stop for 3 days straight pushing snow and hauling wood. Was a good test for the old girl, now I have 3 of them so they can all share the responsibility. And yes, the new owners of your house should have already begun preparing for the storm.... And I swear the weather men get paid more to say words like "catastrophic" and "major" all it does is put people in panic mode...

Well, now my long talk is over. Wish us all luck!

Cory

I don't miss the power utility in CT CL&P or as I used to call them Cheat, Loot & Plunder.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
