Default new guy with a 104

Shes in rough shape but I realized my yard is just a little to big to do every thing by hand. I needed something to pull a leaf sweaper, plow the driveway, and tug a wagon around to do yard work. Push mowing is the easiest way to do my yard due to the landscaping and the steep hill by the driveway but a tractor would be nice for the rest.

I got a 104 for $150 and a plow complete minus the bracket that bolts onto the lift handle for $65. The 104 runs fine, needed a battery, only problem is it smokes.

I plan to use it this winter on snow duty and then in april or so tear it apart repaint and rebuild the engine. I won't be doing a full on restoration. Just making it look better and I plan to use it for a long while.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
