Default Got a Cub 1650 with junk deck and nice blade Sat. for $175.

The auctioneer at the 3 ring sale didn't have the keys, so he didn't start a whole row of stuff and prices were low. I wasn't even going to watch this sell, since 1650's go fairly high around here but I took a chance for $175. I had one of those keys on my keychain and started it up and drove it just fine to my trailer. I'll take all they want to throw at me for that price. The snapper ran fine too and started right up with the same key. Not a cub I know, but for $40 you would have bought it too. I was about to take a cub of my own there to sell but ran out of time. I'm glad I didn't since they didn't start them.

Actually, this deck is pretty beat to death and welded about everywhere. I think I have a good wide one around here still. Hopefully I didn't throw it away. I was happy to see the transmission doesn't have the creep problem. I had one that would sit there idling then take off across the yard. I hate that.

Nice score on the 1650. Looks like you bought the blade and a tire and the rest of the tractor was free. Looks to be in pretty decent shape. Did ya run into Forrest Gump since you bought his Snapper?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
