I'll start off with the good news first. It started out I had a old wheelhorse B111 frame laying in the scrap pile in my back yard. A buddy of mine wanted it and had this old (i think home made) back blade setup for a 3 point. So we swapped. I like it, but I need a do a few things to it before winter.
![]() ![]() Now on to the bad news. I had a neighbor of mine doing some work for me as he owed me a little bit of money. I had him put the coil back on the 102 for me simply because i felt to lazy to do it....I'm regretting that now. It seems he mounted it a tad to low and had the throttle cable routed right next to the positive side....and we learned REALLY quick about 20 minutes ago that the deep cycle battery I have in it is really throwing some amps out. It ate completely through the throttle cable and split it in two. and toasted the wire to the coil all the way back to the switch but as far as i know. That's the only damage.... was quite a smoke show too. I have a spare wire harness laying around so that's no big deal. I'll get it swapped sometime here before long. but the throttle cable is a bit different. Are the cable themselves replaceable, or do I have to get the handle and all ? ![]()

The replacement part, P/N IH-384883-R92, comes as an assembly. Whether you can separate the cable from the actuator depends on how the cable housing is crimped to the lever. I have been able to replace the cable alone on both the Quiet Line and 82 Series tractors, I don't know how the 1x2/3 assemblies are made. I've seen some crimps that I won't want to mess with.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
