For those few of you who have heard about me selling some Cub items, to save up to buy a square baler...I am finally going to be traveling to Brookville, IN. tomorrow, to pick up an International #47 square baler that is a 1 owner, always barn kept, and ready to go to the field!
![]() Will be getting some pictures up once I get it home, and behind the Farmall H. Even though my dad has owned balers, I am very happy and excited to be buying my first..And a nice one at that! ![]()

Congrats, can't wait to see pics
I think we have one in one of the buildings at the farm but since we don't have cows anymore we don't have a use for it.

You will like the #47 baler. On our farm, we put half of our 400+ acres in hay and small grains, and usually still put up about 8-10,000 bales of hay and 3000 bales of straw a year. The 47 was known for it's high capacity chamber and pickup, baling more than the competition ever could. My dad and I run two 47's and my grandpa runs two 430's (the next model with the all twine three disc knotter). Cant wait to see pics. If you ever need help on one, feel free to PM me.

An last but not least...A photo of the guy whose dad bought it new (right), and his friend who lives where the baler was stored.

Not bad at all! You could get a rough estimate on how much material that has seen by rubbing your finger over the edge of the auger in the pickup. If it is sharp, she's not young by any means. Looks like that baler has seen it's fair share of use, but its 45+ years old. Looks clean and straight though. Nice buy

Thank you! I am very happy with how straight, and mechanically good it is! Hooked it up to the H, and it turned right over.
The picture does it no justice, by no means...But after I clean and scrub on it tomorrow, I guarantee it will look a lot better. ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
