Default Need Key Switch-Electrical Plug on 982

Key switch was very corroded and had a melt down. Would like to replace the plastic plug with what should be on the wiring harness.

Can anyone suggest a good source for the plugs. I made it work okay for now as I rewired another switch in place using Roland's diagrams, but would like to put it back the right way.

Searched and searched the internet and cannot find any places to get the molded electrical plugs from.

Default Key Switch Electrical Plug

BIGMOZEKE, My local Kohler Engine dealer has a kit full of electrical plugs. I got one for my 782 when I installed a V twin in it. I am not familiar with a 982 so I don't know what fits it. Show me what it looks like and I will check his supply for you.

The best I can see, the 982 used 725-3021 Ignition Switch. The plastic holder (which is actually part of the harness) can be had.

It should be 729-0125 connector. It is available from CC.

Thanks a lot Roland, that is EXACTLY what I needed.
I have changed them motor over to an M18 but the connectors are exactly the same, key switches are different though. Didn't want to get another key switch until had a good connector.
In general.....I was looking for a source to buy connectors for the wiring harness and there is very little out there...........even on EVILBAY there ain't much.
The 3 prong, three prong, 5 prong etc. I thought that this stuff should be easy to find but it ain't. Also, I would like to use MTW wire for doing the replacement when needed so I should not have a hard time finding that ......unless the color choices are limited.

Those plastic connectors are made by a company called "Molex".

NAPA supposedly has all of those connectors, and the correct crimp-on terminal ends for them, too.

You guys are the greatest.
I will hit the NAPA store tomorrow. I am sure that I will come out of there with more than just a couple of connectors.

Thanks again, Joe

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
