My wife's Uncle Gene added 12" to each side of his 54" on his 1862. He had the steel rolled to match the stock blade. It turned out very well. I don't have any pics of it.

Hey CadPlans...............I just could not bring myself to cut down an.........."endagered species".........sorta.........cub plow.....and then post it on here..........no way buddy. It won't be long before you cannot find those anymore. I think that Roland would kick me off of the site if did such a thing.........LMAO
Wasn't thinking about going too wide, only about 4 inches on each side and just using some 1/8" flat stock and weld some 1" angle across the back for reinforcement. I actually have to lengthen the plow frame as well. It is currently on my 582 and will not fit the SUPER as it is about 8 inches longer. I searched the site and could not find any old posts, but I'll keep looking...unless Duke goes for a drive...........hee hee.

Got any old underground oil tanks lying around?
A 1000 gallon tank makes a boat load of snow blades!

Use 3/16 inch steel and make a set of wings that when tilted left or right will still shed the snow. Set at a forward angle so it acts like a bucket of sorts and holds more snow in front of the blade. Google pro-wings for pick up plows to understand what I'm talking about.
That's what I did to my 54 inch Haban making it 72 inch wide and allowing it to carry more snow. just make it so they can be easily removable so when you get the once every ten year blizzards you can remove them to blaze a trail.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
