Default 782 question

So I bought a Red 782 the other day and I'm going to be picking it up today. I'm not sure where to check to find the serial number of the tractor to see if it had a series I or II engine. Where can I find the serial number? Correct me if I'm wrong but am I looking for a serial number greater then 700001 for it to be a series II? Also, from what I've was reading these don't have a hydro release for easy moving. So is it ok or easy to roll these onto my truck via ramps? Thanks for the feedback

Anthony, with help you should be able to push it up onto your truck. I think that's the serial number break. Try and search the site I know that info was posted in the past week.

Thanks Methos. Yeah I did a search with "782" as the keyword and don't get any results. Also did a google search for it and came up with a few things.

The Serial Tag is on the LH side of the frame near the foot pedal.

700,000 & above indicates a CCC/MTD built tractor

726,125 & above indicates a Kohler KT-17 Series II engine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
