Default Frame question
will a 71, 72 or 73 frame interchange with a 70 or 100 frame? i just bought a 70 that has a big chunk missing out of the tunnel and have access to a 71, 72 and 73 carcass that i could rob the frame from....will they interchange?

They will interchange, except for the 73...well, it will but it will not be a correct frame for restoration if that is what you plan in the future. The 73 was among the first line to have the QA on it and so it will be slightly different in the front end then the others.

The 72 also has the QA thingy in the front.
It also has the holes in the frame for the hydro pump, the 70-100 does not.

Good points! Also the 71 dont have mounting holes for a hyd.pump.

well i have a spare NF hydro pump i want to throw on this 70 so having the holes is nice....i could always cut off the qa attaching points. thanks for the help! i hate when people cut the tunnel away to fix the roll pin in the tranny....seems more of a pain to cut the tunnel away than to crawl under it to fit it....

Drilling the holes is pretty easy and locations are in the hydraulic lift manual. I've done two frames with out any problems. I have long puches and can reach the spriol pin thru the creeper handle slot. I also use tape to hold the pin on the punch to reinstall. A hole on the frame drives me as well.
