Those are the only after market numbers I have. I figured he could have them cross referenced?

did not think of crossing it, i do not know about others here but i like to keep a stock on hand of things that will break or wear out because with out fail they go out when it is the most inconvenient, weekends or after store hours.

last week i was cutting grass with my woods deck and 1 hour of day light left and the belt said it had enough but i had one on hand i bought 4 years ago, not a bad price of 45 dollars for a 113 inch 5/8 wide belt. and i had to look up the routing of the belt but i got the yard done before dark.

for the cub got back up coil condenser points and a gasket set along with other stuff that will get me by in a pinch, like i said it is not if it will fail just whenis the mystery

Default coil

For a coil try napa ic14sb it's oil filled not expoxy, has the right resistance, about 20$. What's the difference between a 6v to 12v condencer. Can they be used? Mike

Thanks for the replies. I have some old automotive coils off of differnt motors I have around, is there a way to check coils and condensors? I really need to get this 1450 going and am looking to pinpoint the problem instead of just changing parts. The day I got this 1450 it quit, I called the PO and took it back to him, he replaced the coil and it fixed it, I'm wondering if something is causing the coil to fail?

Put a coil that I had off of an old truck engine, now I have a weak spark across the points. This will be the second coil that has failed on this 1450, any ideas as to what may be causing the failures. i don't want to replace the coil and have it fail if there is a problem elsewhere.

When the points open to disconnect the ground connection you get instant spark. The condenser serves to enhance the spark by greatly increasing the voltage to the input of the coil. Weak spark is often the result of a bad condenser....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
