I've got a cub O and I finally an start working on it. It was missing the fuel line when I bought it. So my question is, what size copper fuel line do I need and what size and type of female fitting do I need as well?
Thanks, |

I don't have a CCO, but a 100. I believe the line size is 3/16". On the 100, they used compression fittings.
I'll do some digging.

I believe Roland is correct about the size. However, the factory ones were not copper, they were steel. The fitting on each end (of the tubing) were made to accept a small rubber sleeve that worked very much the same way a compression fitting works. I have bought the rubber sleeves from Chris at Cub Cadet Classics, but have never seen the fittings for sale new. If you can find them on Ebay they normally sell for big bucks (considering that they are just small brass fittings).

Sam is correct. The original fuel line was steel.

When my father bought the "O" that i have now back in the early 70's, it had an aluminum tube I believe. Either which way it got smashed and he replaced it with a rubber fuel line. Hose clamp on both ends. I'm not sure what size the fittings were. I know the threads are the same as a 1/8" water pipe fitting

You mean these up in the left hand corner? I have about 30 of these used ones. They seemed to get removed and replaced with a rubber hose...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
