Default 61' Original new to me

Finally got me an Original, looks to be a June of 61 serial number, 10138. Nice little machine. The price was right, I traded a tree lounge tree stand for it straight up. It needs a ignition button which I have in the shed and the battery needs to be put back in the original location. The guy has it in a milk crate bolted in the back. Pictures coming soon.

Oh I know that. I love to dish it out when I can, it's all in good fun. As far as the "O" goes I will be working on it after the garden goes in. It looks like it needs a correct hood ornament and the grille IH plate. Gonna shop around for a 3 point hitch for it. Then I can rip it down sandblast and paint. The 102 is my son's.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
