Super blower pain
I have a 2182 super that I bought a used 451 blower for. It was on a 1863 and the PO said it blows snow 100 feet or more. I cant get more then 6 feet from it. I think I need a gear change? Some places Ive read say that I should have a 450 blower, but my original paper work from the dealer calls for a 451. The 451 has a 31 tooth gear and the 450 has a 28 tooth gear is this the solution to my "slow blower"? Thanks, for any info, Don

100ft is streching it a little bit. I think the PO was using his imagination a little. My 451 will throw the right kind of snow about 30ft.

new belt, belt tension is not adjustable. Its either under tension, or not when you flip the idler bracket. Yes, everything turns slowly. Throws snow only about 6 feet under perfect conditions.
I'm not here to argue how far a 451 should throw snow. If my 451 was throwing snow 30 feet I wouldnt be writing about poor performance from it. Thanks, Don

Kayak I have a 451 on my 2084 and depending on the chute angle on a calm day I can easily throw snow 30 feet. My son has a slightly model (Higher nr) on his 2086 and that puppy will easily throw snow 40 to 50 feet or more. Again depending on chute angle. How fast is your pto pulley turning, possibly you could be getting some slippage in the pto clutch.

KayakDon how big is the PTO pulley on your motor It should be at least 6" or bigger. Maybe someone at some point has changed the pto on your machine. That may explain the poor performance on your tractor.

6" pulley on the pto. Nothing seems to be slipping in any way. Very strong, I cant overload the blower. Will just keep pumping the snow even though I end up moving tractor too fast and over loading the blower. Just does not move the snow more then 6 feet.
Matt, No, I just move throttle to WOT which sounds like my bobcat under WOT
