Default 1200 clutch rebuild and ISO mounts replacement

Ok so at the NC summer plow day David was nice enough to let me plow with his 882D! Thanks David that was awesome! As I was smoking it up! David had the clutch go out on the 1200. FYI That hurt my chances for the even up trade I was working on with David.

Removing the clutch from the 1200 was so easy! Right away I was able to see what had happened. I'll let the pics do the talking! This ball in pic #3 came out during removal and I haven't had a chance to look at parts lookup yet to see what it goes too. The pressure plates need to be refaced and I've got a new friction disc to put it in and the teaser spring and throw out bearing are in great shape. Check out a PO's welding job!

Onto the pics!

I am sure you have a new drive plate coming. Not sure about the ball, maybe it was in the input shaft on the flywheel.

I hope im not getting all the blame for this. I thought it was standard to install some of those Midwest Super Cub clutches in these things so they stay together during the plowing.

Hey Duke, that ball will go into the rear coupler then the drive shaft should slide in next. Think it might keep the shaft from flexing too far in or something. My 1250 had the same ball with the hydro. Make sure the front drive shaft bushing is in good shape. This is a good time to replace it too.

It certainly does look like chicken crapped on it! Just for giggles I would like to see the new parts added to the thread as a comparison! I've never seen clutch parts on these tractors got a hydro myself! And this dosent look like anything like a car clutch i was expecting!

And David you must be ruff on clutches what couldn't decide what gear to put it in lol?

I too would love to see pics of the clutch assembled or step by step so I can follow where everything goes when I put my 128 clutch back together. Mainly the springs and washers and or spacers is what I am having a hard time with. Ahem I forgot to get a picture of mine before I took it apart,

Moral of the story don't let a Hydrostatic owner drive a gear drive at a plow day! I'm not here to blame you David, I'm going to let everyone else do that.

I just checked my bank account and I can't afford anything that comes from midwest super cub. My last name isn't Stegal or Green!

Thank you! That helped a lot and now I don't have to go look it up.

It does look pretty bad!

David was doing pretty good until he saw the R and he couldn't find his R finger to figure out which gear to go into next.:confused2.gif:

Or you could look at the manual like Lew has pointed out.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
