Default Found an Original

Today i stopped by a buddy of mine's house that is big into tractor pulling, and saw his collection of garden tractors. Everything from john deeres, cubs, and wheelhorses. While he was showing them to me i spotted an original that was basically a roller. i asked him about it and he told me the motor and all the parts for it were in his other building. His relative tore it down to start restoring it but gave up. so i asked if it was for sale, and he said he had $250 in it so he just wanted to get his money back out of it. So long story short i told him that as soon as i could get the money i'd be up to pick her up. i did notice it had the original air filter for it and he said he had the IH emblem for the grille and the bird for the hood also. So what do you guys think is $250 a good price?

If its all there, sounds like a great price...especially with those pieces that are usually hard to find. You better post some pics when you get it

Yes, that is a fair price for one. Mrcubcadet has one listed for $230 with a deck, but it might be a drive for you (??)....Who knows, you could have your own collection of originals very soon!!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
