Default clutch mount bending
ok well i got my clutch in today, resurfaced with new friction disc, and a red spring. it worked great for about a 1/2 hour then the clutch started to not be able to disengage. started looking around and the actual sheet metal in the frame is pulling away from the frame and not letting it pull the throwout bearing.....

is this a common problem? do i just have to beef it up some how? or is there something wrong?

What model Cub is it? My 126 had a cobbled up clutch fork mount on it when I got it because the original mount must have broke off. I cut that crap off and made a new mount from a piece of angle iron.

Is this Cub going to be a puller?

The ony time I would use a red spring in the clutch is in a highly modified puller. Adding extra support to clutch hanger is a must when using a red or yellow spring. I'm using a blue spring (500 - 600 pound spring) in my 100 with no clutch slippage problems. The area that hold the clutch hanger bracket doesn't give.

The engine has had the Killer Kohler mods done to it.

sorry yes it is going to be a puller and a yard toy. it is also a 122. i like that mount you have IHinIN im going to do something like that possibly.

I have never seen a mount bend with a regular spring (108 and 1000).

What are Killer Kohler mods??

The WF tractors have a much stronger clutch hanger bracket than the NF tractors do, so that's not something you'll need to worry about.
