I wanted to put a voltmeter on my 680, don't know how to wire it. It's got three terminals on the back, one marked b, t, and the last is blank. Never done electrical work like that before and don't want something to go wrong. I some guys put amp meter and voltmeter. I think I might do that, but don't know wiring. I had seen were people wanted to do the same thing, but I couldn't understand what they describing how to hook it up. I need it dumbed down a bit.
P.s. The voltmeter is from tractor supply. Part no. 1818634

How about you snapping a picture of the back of this Gauge or post the instructions (if any) that came with it.

Is one of the terminals perhaps for a light for the meter?
Voltmeters need only 2 terms... they go in parallel to the switched 12v, one term to +, one to - or ground. John |

Do you have a multi meter?
Two of those terminals are going to show a relatively high resistance between them....who knows what the 3rd is for. One of those two should go to the switched side of the ignition key (12V) , the other should go to ground. The + side of the switch should also contain the wire that goes to one side of the coil, or just measure it with a meter, test light etc. If the meter deflects downward, reverse the leads to the meter. I can't put a picture on here, computer doesn't cooperate. I had my dad look at it and it turns out the way that they stamped it, the negative looks like a t. And yes it lighted.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
