Default New Ride With a Big Cut...

While buying the F-20 today, I also sealed the deal on this decent 106. Runs great, all original...and has a hidden desired option on it....rear PTO. 48 inch deck, which is probably a load for this 10hp. Needs a grill...but overall Im happy

A good strong 10 horse will run the deck OK but if the grass is a little too high or thick it would need to run in low.
We have a 106 in the family. It was the first cub I bought in about 1984(came with a front snow plow and a 42 inch deck, and has been a great little tractor. Has done just gobs of work, cutting grass, hauling wood, hauling kids and dogs, plowing snow and still runs good after a engine rebuild 15 years ago and several cosmetic upgrades. Nice option of the rear PTO on yours. Have fun with it!
Thanks for posting!
Regards
Chris

Thanks guys. Ill try and get some more pics soon, its still at the guys house. Need to get a trailer out this weekend to make a load. I would think that 48 inch deck is a load on it, but Ill try it and see what happens. I got it because it has rear PTO like its bigger brother 126. And the deck may fit nicely on the 147, so I could put a 42 on this and be all set.

That's a nice 106, and with rear PTO! You can't beat that.

Ryan,
Once again, congrats on the find. Looks like you've got the market on rear pto's and 169's . Did you seal the deal on that 86 you had a lead on?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
