I recently had to replace the pto on my nf (147) and the local shop had a wf (129) in it's "scrap yard". My 147 works very well with the 129 pto pulley even though they were slightly different styles.

Hey there, woodbywallace: There is a data file on the different styles of front pto clutches. Basically two styles of front pulley and at least 3 different spring plate configurations. My guess is that basically as long as your bearing and the clutch match, they'll do something for you. If your original clutch had the two spring plates and the clutch pulley witht he 6 posts on the front, that should a more heavy duty clutch for the 12 and 14 horsepower motors.

Look in the technical library under tractors -
PTO Data & Repair - Mechanical That file shows the different types.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
