I have no problems with the JD's. Allen and I followed a 425 at the redneck plow day and it was a beast! The only thing taht scares me about JD's is the $$$.

I have said for years that a 430 diesel is the only JD I would own.

I almost bought one last week for a great price. Running and good straight sheet metal. No mowing deck though or 3pt so I couldnt justify it yet. I hope its still available in a few weeks. Got some deals a brewin!

The 430 is a massive beast of a garden tractor. 3cyl Yanmar diesel. 2 speed rear end. Locking diff. Power steering and hydraulics in the front mid and rear. Here is a pic I took of one last year at a plowday. This machine belongs to Drew Gardner of Alabama.

That guy looks kinda familiar.

Whats a Cub guy like Vince_O doing on something green

My neighbor has 2 JD 455's one to mow with, and one with a loader and 3 point... I've used the one with the loader on it, he says whenever I need it, come grab it...I try not too very often. I'm not one to use other peoples equipment like that, but I tell you what, its like a Cadillac. They are nice...but way more than I'd like to pay.

It was kind funny the other day, he was out mowing his 5-6 acre "yard" with his JD brand ear protection/radio on and the grass was pretty deep...way too deep for his speed, and that thing kept dying on him...he must have bogged it down a dozen times...and it looks like heck out there now

Well, since it has been so darn wet out, I went out mowing. deck got so clogged up with muck that it stalled dead. Earlier, I found a whole ton of fishing line. That made a mess around center spindle, and outside spindle.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
