Default My Cub projects

I haven't really done anything with my Cub projects for the last 9-10 months, but I've got the bug to work on them again. Got some of the last parts I needed to get refinished, powdercoated the last few days, and got the rearend for my 129 all cleaned up, painted, and reinstalled. The 12hp Kohler has been cleaned up and ready for paint.

Picked up a different rear end, and front axle for my 100 project, from oldironlindy last night. Got the rear sitting on the engine stand and cleaning it up right now. Thanks for the great deal Matt!

The 129 is going to be IH red as you can see in the pics, and the 100 is going to look like a mini 1206.

The last picture is the next project. My Dad picked up a original, and I'm going to redo it for him. That one will go back to Yellow and White. It's a 4 digit, collar spindle '61.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

Jeff

Everything looks great. I have wanted to do a WF in red also. Can't wait to see yours all finished.

mickb72, yes that is a 68 RoadRunner in primer. Going to be my Race car. The red car is my Dad's 69 SuperBee, and not pictured is my 69 GTX parked next to the Road Runner.

Picked up a few things I needed for the 100 and 129 today. Got a very nice dash, steering wheel, and some rag joints, and transmission couplers to replace the worn/homemade driveshaft the previous owner installed. Also picked up a new steering column, and gas tank for the 100.

Some updated pics. Got the dash for the 129 done. First I polished up the aluminum, then masked it off, and painted the dash with satin black. Also saned down the dash fiberglass and sprayed it today. Not the best, but I might wet sand it a little, and buff it out some. The wheels are for my 100. I'm planning on building a mini 1206, as the 100's were built the same year the 1206 was.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
