Default Preparing for snow with the 1912 and 551.
Snow is forecast for Thursday here, so I’m getting ready. I am putting my 551 blower on the 1912, I’m hoping performance is ok with the smaller PTO. We’ll see. The belt seems good and tight. The question I have is I cannot seem to get the mounting bolt holes to line up to get a bolt in there. Are these absolutely necessary? I am not sure what to do to get them in. The blower hits the frame and won’t let the holes line up.

If you use a tapered line up tool in the hole can you get it closer?

After I ran to my computer (iPhone) and cried wolf, I had an idea. I propped the front of the blower and put it down all the way, almost lifting the front of the tractor and tapped the main bracket with a hammer and it got close enough to get the bolts started. We’re good to go now,all I need is snow.

Hey.. at least ya got it ready now.. Better than trying to do it with 6 inches on the ground already BTDT.. Back in the day the older western setups with the cables were the pits. I love my new Western Pro Plus HD.. It basically hooks itself up!

Steve, for a minute I thought you flipped it over upside down to get the bolt holes to line up.

Man that’s a hot set up. I moved 8” of snow off my driveway and didn’t even break a sweat. I also blew a path around the perimeter of my 6 acres to walk the dogs. I think I enjoyed it a little too much... this is the first time I blew snow with the Magnum 18, that’s a good sound when the engine bears down.

I can show you the finished product.... it’s a little hard snapping pics and driving a snowblower. We might get more on the back side of this storm, so maybe I can get one tomorrow morning in action.

Nice. Yeah they are great engines with lots of torque, and that 551 is a great snowblower. Tough combo to beat. Only thing nicer would be power steering for that heavy blower.

Really looking forward to blowing snow with the 451 on my 2084 this winter.
