I recently acquired a 2082. A buddy of mine got it and did some tinkering to get it to start and run to verify the motor was still good. In doing so, he determined the OEM fuel pump was part of the problem, so he replaced it with the newer style black plastic pumps. Now it does work pretty well, so I'm grateful for that, but I've got a mental block on using this style pump because it's just kind a dangling in there instead of being mounted to the firewall and having the fuel line routed through the firewall like the factory one.
Now in my search to find the correct one, I'm coming up empty-handed. It looks like it's NLA and the one I did find was an absolutely ridiculous amount of money. Any suggestions from the guru's out there? |

I think I have one from an 1882, should be the same thing. If I have it it's yours for $10.00 shipped to you. I try to get a pic of it tomorrow and post it here.

Sorry but I can't find the pump. I know this sucks but I think I may have tossed it during a shop clean up. I checked a couple places and from what I can see it looks like the replacement is a Briggs & Stratton pump. You may want to try the sponsors at the top of the page. The plastic one you have is probably the replacement.

Next step is trying to source a rebuild kit for the Facet pump. If I can find that, I'm golden. Thanks again for checking. |

Do you have the Mag engine in this thing still?
If so, just mount a mechanical pump up on the side like they used to use on the early tractors. Better pump IMO. |

Like Jon, said. There is a breakpoint with serial numbers 811500 and below using the mechanical fuel pumps and 811501 and above using the vacuum fuel pumps.

This may be a long shot but you could contact Facet and see if they have any NOS pumps laying around or a rebuild kit for yours. Here is the link.

Does the pump you need have a nipple sticking out the top/bottom in addition to the ones sticking out the ends?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
