Default Generator bearings 122 cub help please

It seems every time I touch this tractor a big can of worms is opened so I got the generator starter apart and the back bearing is a caged ball bearing. I was able to remove the outer race and the cage out but now the inner race is frozen to the shaft can I apply heat to try and remove it. Also just test fitting the new sealed bearing inner race barely gets on the shaft at the end so is this a pressed on bearing which doesn’t make sense because I will not be able to have it adjust once it’s back together and the front bearing gets past the threaded end and then it stops. Am I better off spending the $$ on a rebuilt or new generator starter which I really don’t want to do

One option- suspend it from something into a small cup of evaporust to try and clean up the shaft to remove that race.
But- that armature wire insulation looks like its flaking off. If it is I'd look for another generator for and try and rebuild it with that armature if yours is in bad shape

I just bought a new starter for my 3 year old SCAG Vanguard. It fit, it works, it was fast and it was a good price.

Just carefully slice the remains of the inner bearing race lengthways with a die grinder/cutoff wheel taking care to not nick the shaft, then it will split at the slice and will fall off.

Yup, I had to replace my OEM China starter with a DB Electric for half the price Scag wanted for a new China starter too. Mine was acting up from the first week I had it but it wasn't consistent enough for me to take it to the dealer and have them let it sit outside for a month until they could get to it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
