Just came back from local mower shop; he had a Grade 8 bolt in stock, so I went with it.
Old bolt did show signs of stripping, but I did not have time nor a tap set, so I installed new bolt. This one appeared to tighten up, but I'm not happy with the wobble at the bottom (deck pulley) end. Either will replace pulley this winter or will take to shop for permanent repair. But looks like I can finish this mowing season.
