I was in a workshop with some Chinese colleagues and we were touring one of our corporate laboratories in France. The host was describing a 3D digitizer (put an object on a platform, and the machine makes a precision mechanical drawing of it).
The Chinese director mentioned that while the machine we were looking at was nice, they had the latest model in their labs in China.
French/American/Spanish colleagues all rolled their eyes and all independently thought "of course you do".
