Time for an update I guess. I’ve got a few pulls in so far this year. I’ve been pulling 2nd gear and working the throttle to stay under that 2.5mph limit, and the results are much better. I added about 100lbs, so I’m just under 1000lbs now. I’ve been pulling about 100’ but can’t seem to get past that mark. I’m being beaten by a solid 4-6’ on each pull, but I have a good collection of 3rd place ribbons.

The tractor feels pretty well balanced as is. The front is light, but doesn’t lift until just before I spin out. Even then it only lifts a few inches. Maybe I need more weight to keep the front down and keep from dropping the hitch height. I’m not sure what else I can do to make a few more feet without spinning out. No one really gives up too much info, so it’s all a trial and error guessing game. I’ve been having fun with it regardless. Got a pull this weekend and then the county fairs start in August.
