Earl, on the original design of the gp circuit in start and pre-heat mode, the power goes out on terminal #19 of the key switch, through the indicator and back to terminal #17 on the key switch and then to the gp's. (terminal #17 is a dummy terminal)

All that the dash indicator does is glows red hot from all the amps that the gp's pull. The original gp's don't get 12 volts because of this indicator and the voltage drop it causes. The new gp's need the full 12 volts and this indicator causes a voltage drop and robs power to them.

With the new gp's in the machine you will need to take the indicator out, move the orange wire off of #17 and move it to #19 and then use the orange wire that powered the gp's to energize the gp solenoid.
