Wheel bearings and wheels
Here's a small tech tip.
I bought some used narrow wheels for the front of my 73 this spring. When I got them the hole in the wheel for the bearing was too large (worn out). I tried shimming it up with an aluminum can only to have it work its way out. I was thinking it over this past week and while looking at very wobbly front wheels (new bearings) I was having remorse at buying them. Someone else told me to take out the bearings, lay the wheel flat, and lightly tap around the edge with a small hammer the center where the bearing inserts to tighten it up again. I did that and it made a huge difference! I no longer feel like throwing the wheels away.
If you are having a similar issue this may help you. Time will tell how long they hold up for.
