So I've been thinking about this for a while. What would make a flywheel not set up to connect a drive shaft? Well, today it dawned on me. It's not the flywheel. It's the end of the crankshaft. At least on the K series that I'm familiar with, the crank has an male threaded stub and the drive hub is actually bolted to the crank.
