Good news, sprayed Seafoam Deep Creep on muffler studs, let it sit for 15 - 20 min. and nuts came off without a hitch. Tore the muffler down and discovered frt. & back halves had separated at the crimp on left hand side; recrimped, assembled and installed, now good to go and much quieter.
