Anything with a single cylinder is gonna vibrate and shake, 82 series or otherwise. A flat twin or the Kubota inline triple are much smoother in the 82 series, with the 782d being the cream of the crop with its fuel sipping diesel engine. But that is a CCC built machine, not IH. I had a 149 for years, loved it, but found the 82 series just that much better and they are not really any larger than the 149. Wider hood, yes, but same basic frame length and fender pan.
