All good and convincing information. I don’t have that kind of jack to throw at it so this project is over. I was under the impression all I had to do was break the glaze and throw some rings in it if everything else was pretty. This is why I was throwing in the towel on it, and Jonathan said I give up too easily. No, I just don’t want a money pit. Because of this I decided to just run the M18 in it for now until it needs a rebuild and go for the full rebuild with it when the time comes or repower. I’ve got in and all hooked up except for a relay for the ignition relay to kill the engine with the old points/coil power line to ground out the coil to kill the engine. I have the relay and know how to use it, I just need to pick up some connectors to make that all happen. That was the original plan I was going to do and I’m back to that. I can return the ring and gasket set, so no big deal except I’m out shipping costs.
