Paper/cardboard is also good to keep the weeds away. Just put it between your plants, and keep it wet so it doesn't blow away.

I have been doing paper addition to the garden for over a decade,,
there is never anything at all left the following season.
I expect the same results with this,, the worms will love dining on important documents!!
