Yesterday I couldn't get the starter to turn the 1641 engine (Vanguard) over. I used some Channel Locks to turn it past the compression stroke and it fired right up. This was not the first time so after I finished what I was doing I got it in the garage and adjusted the valves. They were way loose. I haven't tried it yet because I broke the pulse nipple off the plastic fuel pump getting the valve cover off. I'll get that changed today.
