Default Still having problems...

I took the carb back apart and cleaned everything. In the midst of doing that I lost the needle valve and the small wire pivot device that the float hinges on. Had to order both parts ($37.00 believe it or not). Also replaced the fuel line from the filter to the carb as well as replacing the filter. I did not have enough line to go back to the tank. Re-assembled everything and it still is doing the same thing. One thing I will mention again is that when all of this started I replaced the plugs with new Champions and the mower ran great for a few minutes and then started missing and backfiring again. Someone earlier in this thread suggested going with Autolite. Is this worth doing at this point or is everyone convinced that it is a fuel issue?
