It replaced a late/mid 90's era Craftsman LT4000 that was quite loose everywhere (and noisy to match) that I just got tired of nickle & diming me.

At this rate though, they're on about the same footing so far. But the Cub has been simpler on the maintenance/repair side and definitely a lot more time efficient when mowing. On the Craftsman, I got so tired of the safety sensors that I just made a heavy gauge hot jump-wire for starting that I kept coiled up under the seat.

I looked around at a couple commercial zeros to replace the Cub with. Its too steep of a jump financially for me right now so I guess I'll be sticking with it for a bit longer.
New PTO is an easy job. Agreed it should have lasted longer, but I also don't know your use case. Can't say that's a regular issue on the ZTs.
