Turning brakes weren't an option on either of those, I think they were optional only on the Supers.
It is a doable conversion, I'd think the 1864 would be easier just because it has discs to begin with. Discs on a 782 would take more work but I'd think it would be possible as well.
The 64 gets you power steering and a Command engine. 3pts were available options, and I believe can still be purchased aftermarket.
My main horse is a red 782, that I put a Command in last summer. I also tried to snag an 1864 to replace my 1861 about 3 weeks ago. It didn't sell but I lost the guy's contact info. I keep hoping he relists it here soon. The 782 and 1864 are considered some of the finest Cubs.
