Ha - I can't tell where we're at on the camshaft/crankshaft matching thing now.
Matt, I did get a picture, but you can't actually see the crankshaft mark on it, so it's inconclusive evidence. Besides, I had to match them several times because I had to remove and reinstall the bearing plate trying to get the spacing right.
I wonder if one could get one of those little inspection cameras into their block to take a look at this? Maybe go in through the fuel pump hole...

Wouldn't pulling the head and bringing it to TDC and checking the site hole and seeing T stamp mean that the cam and crank are timed correctly?

I was thinking along those lines when I re-checked the valve clearances Duke. When I got the cylinder into position for valve adjustment, I could see the T in the window, although it appeared as though there was some play before and after the T. Of course, I didn't have the head off so I couldn't see exactly where the piston was.

Dave, if you pull the fuel line off the carb do you get good flow from the tank? Maybe jump 12 volts to the coil to to bypass any problems in the ignition circuit like Pulse said. Try another Autilite 216 plug. WTF this thing should run

Yes, good fuel flow. The bowl fills right up as well. The 12V jump is one of my next steps. Another plug? OK, but as a last resort. Lots of other things to check thru first...
Thanks guys!
