If you haven't done it yet, I would take it apart to clean it. When I got my 1864, I was told it had "carb problems". So I took the carb apart, but it was perfectly clean inside. Turns out someone reversed the throttle and choke cables on the carb linkage. There is a rubber gasket between the body of the carb and the top which is usually reusable.
