Have been busy cleaning and painting parts for the 147!
Some pictures here and will add more in next post.
Some update words:
- Took the grill casting back off

forgot to place the pivot cross bar into the grill casting to activate the PTO

- tested and installed the key switch
- tested cleaned and installed the light switch.
- tested the elect lift

it did not function! Tore it apart and replaced the large and small bearings and cleaned and greased, re-assembled, primed and painted.
Had to make a new bushing for inside the aluminum pivot / mounting point. Had a piece of brass that I sanded /turned down in my Amish lathe ( drill press. cut to length and drilled out for 1/2 inch bore. Much better and will work for another 50 years.
- picked up good used PTO for my cub yard. (PO had drilled out one of the tapped holes for the set screws). Have that new one dis assembled cleaned and primed.
- cleaned the starter gen and painted black. seems to be a red and black theme going here!
- Cleaned the headlight rings ( Chrome die cast) and painted the inside black.
- installed the hood latches.
- tested both of the switches for the lift. work one has three wires and one has four.
Both of these switches have the knob missing any creative ideas for a look alike knob? I thing these were a thin black plastic Item and must have been rather vulnerable to breakage. I may check McMaster Carr to see if I can find something a little beefier.
Hope to order engine parts today for the K321.
Regards,
Chris
