[QUOTE=thesid;77574]Hello,
I am just wondering how the fuel is suppose to exit the fuel pump on a Cadet 2165? Should it be a constant stream of fuel into the carb or an intermittent stream?
Just resolved that problem on my 1440 that's got a V-Twin 14hp. A 1994 I bought brand new. Would start and immediately stall out. After cleaning gas tank, gas line, fuel pump and checking fuel solenoid. I pulled the top off the carb and checked the needle and float which all looked good. You can actually see the fuel solenoid operate when you turn the key.
Had it all reassembled and the same problem exsisted.
This time I pulled the top off the carb and located the brass nozzle or jet that let fuel into the lower chamber and removed that.
It had some fairly large holes that looked pretty clean, but then noticed the microscopic pin holes in the middle part of this brass rod.
I had to take a single strand of a 22g multistrand piece of copper wire and run it through all these tiny tiny holes and ta...daa!
Reassembled and started up like brand new!!
Got my hands on a carb cleaner called Sea Foam.... that will help too!
Hope this helps
