I bought a 147 with the same set up apparently the previous owner used a different block during rebuild ! my opinion for whatever its worth just from past years of experiance is if you leave the balance gears in then eventually youll end up having to tear it down & rebuild it anyway possibly with quite a bit more damage ! So i would go ahead & remove those things while yo got it out ! Ive seen to many blocks with extra air holes due to balance gears !
