The issue with the old Cub Cadet compacts can be part availability. When they left production, new parts were not produced for them. So you might find machine-specific parts are no longer available for them from Cub Cadet.

It wasn't until the Yanmar-produced Cub Compacts that you could still get parts for Compacts many years after being produced.

So good luck with the 7254; you're going to need it.

That said, they were decent small compact tractors when they were in production.
