Back in the day when IH was in business they had red fluid.
they called it Hytran.
Also a lot of automatic trans fluid was red.
Sundstrand who made the hydros for the cub cadets then also recommended Dexron type "F" was an acceptable fluid for their units.
Sundstrand put that hydro into a lot of wheeled equipment, and of course those
manufactures recommended their fluid as expected.
If you had Deere equipment, of course they recommended their fluid.
yada yada.
It was said back then that Deere painted their equipment Green, so they could hide in the tall grass as the Big Red powered equipment proudly powered by.
