The best I can tell it is the way you take the picture. When you take a picture with your smart phone with the phone in the normal position, it will show sideways when you load it here. To correct it, hold your phone 90 degrees, with the charging port to your right. Think of it like this, when you take a picture with your regular camera turned 90 degrees it will show the picture like on our smart phones. Hope this helps and makes sense.
